Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Exactly. The only good and legitimate use of an olive is in a martini.
And celebrated again on March 14 for Pi day! I’ll take two days to celebrate pie anytime!
One more . . .
Oh my gosh, this is crazy good! The arrangement is amazing!!!! I always love when musicians make a song their own, not in a self-conscious trying-too-hard-to-be-clever way, but in a truly inspired way. This song was seriously good stuff!!!
It’s good to know that you DO pay attention to the comments each day… and incredibnle to see you quick response to the Spooky Tooth comment from yesterday. We are such a LUCKY generation.. the BEST music, the BEST cars and the most glorious freedom ever seen
John Lennon is said to have commented that this version of “The Walrus” is the best. I think it is too. “Sitting on a cornflake . . .” Inspired!
Amen!
And Amen!
CHIEF OF SINNERS THOUGH I BE
I thank him who enabled me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to service; although I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
— 1 Timothy 1:12-17, WEB
Here are two settings of the hymn, Chief of Sinners Though I Be. The first features energetic young singers in natural surroundings. The second, more contemplative, is an organ solo with text displayed. It includes verses 3 and 5 that the other version is missing.
Grace abounds.
1 Chief of sinners though I be, Jesus shed His blood for me,
Died that I might live on high, lives that I might never die.
As the branch is to the vine, I am His and He is mine.
2 Oh, the height of Jesus’ love, higher than the heav’ns above,
Deeper than the depths of sea, lasting as eternity!
Love that found me — wondrous thought! Found me when I sought Him not.
3 Only Jesus can impart balm to heal the wounded heart,
Peace that flows from sin forgiv’n, joy that lifts the soul to heav’n,
Faith and hope to walk with God in the way that Enoch trod.
4 Chief of sinners though I be, Christ is all in all to me;
All my wants to Him are known, All my sorrows are His own.
He sustains the hidden life safe with Him from earthly strife.
5 O my Savior help afford by Your spirit and Your Word!
When my wayward heart would stray, keep me in the narrow way;
Grace in time of need supply while I live and when I die.
Carmen Ohio! O-H!
Have a blessed Sunday, Treepers. It’s cold here in Texas so snuggle in and stay warm. Always know that Our Lord loves us and will look after us when we are troubled. I know from personal experience how experiencing his Grace can be healing. Its happened to me several times and, each time, it was the most profound experience I’ve ever felt. It’s hard to explain what receiving Our Lord’s Grace is like. But when you feel it, you will know it for what it is.
Our Lord is waiting to accept you. All you have to do is accept Him as your personal savior. And that’s something that’s between you and Him. Honest.
A blessed Sunday to you, too, Garrison. And to all the Treepers.
Good morning, 1530🙂
🍻
Good morning, Cat.😊
Good morning, Garrison, and thank you so much for reposting “The Parting Glass”, which for some reason always brings me to tears. Sudden and unexpected. I can’t explain why and don’t want to. Some songs are just like that. Thank you.💓
Mornin’ Betsy! I was similarly moved the first time I heard the Face Vocal Band’s version of this time-honored song which dates from the 1700’s. There’s a sense of finality in the words. As so many Irish and Scots immigrants did in the late 1700’s and 1800’s, someone’s leaving never to return. There are numerous other versions out there (it is a traditional song, after all) but this one, IMHO, is the best.
Yes…it is the finality of it, which could apply to any number of situations. But such a sadness as well and definitely regret. And who amongst us can say we have none of that? Beautiful yet sorrowful. A simple ballad with so many complex emotions. I wouldn’t have known of it had you not posted, and I thank you💓
And a gift for you, Garrison.
You posted this on October 8, 2018. I wasn’t yet commenting but just lurking. It made such an impression on me I took a screenshot, and it has been on my phone ever since.
Pooh’s logic…
“What I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what was called.”
A wonderful fact in life, I thought. 😊
Betsy Jones, You are a wildly interesting and very dear person…
What a very nice thing to say, Sarah. Thank you so much🤗 As an aside, I enjoy your responses very much when you answer Garrison on his clips especially but elsewhere also. You are an extremely thoughtful commenter in your own right. 😊
Thank you, Betsy. I’d forgotten that I’d put that up. Still, Pooh’s logic about anticipation sometimes being better than the following reality still holds. I recently read an article about car restoration. The author talked about how people sometime embark on a multi-year restoration only to find, once the car is finished, that it isn’t nearly as satisfying to own or drive as they expected. To their consternation, they find they liked the process better than the reality. Poo logic, again.
What you said is all true!! Another example I always think of is Christmas and the weeks’ long anticipation of that joyous time. And just like that…it’s over for another year. For children looking forward to Father Christmas, as he is called in Britain, I’m sure this would hold true.
I just asked my husband about your extremely interesting car restoration example. He restored MANY in his earlier years. He agrees, although he said he got quite a lot of pleasure driving what he had worked on, but he was always looking for the next project.
I’m glad to have twigged a memory for you.😊 Blessings to you, Garrison.
Betsy, my one and only restoration project was 1981 Mercedes. I was driving it around as I got hit by a mooslime woman that accidentally canceled her insurance a day earlier. Yeah, right.
A quiet reminder to backup all your files.
Not insignificant chatter about about a future “cyber-pandemic”, epic in scale, “a bigger disaster then Covid”…. given that the Droogs’ bright shiny thing (distraction) is on the wane…
Thanks. Will.
3 dogs pose for a photo! 8 seconds of pure joy, delight, and happiness. You will love it! I promise!
So sweet!
But, but, but, I accept pats tooo ! 😜
🙂
Gracious good day, Mungrel💓
Niiiiiice
Love it, Sarah! Good morning to you!
Border Collies ROCK!
Have you read any of Jon Katz’s books about this life with border collies and how, really, they transformed his life?
Oh, yeah, I read several of his dog books. Really enjoyed them. But then he sorta’ lost his way and his later books weren’t particularly interesting. His comments that dogs don’t feel emotions is a projection of his own personal difficulties relating to the people in his life. The more I found out about the guy, the less I liked him. Like Neil Young, who’s music I’ve always liked, Katz is not a very nice person.
I traveled that exact same path with his books, his blogs, and just, him. The first few books were very interesting and reasonably well-written. It piqued my interest and occasionally I’d follow his blog. But then his books became repetitive and not well written. Around that same time I was starting to formulate an impression of him based on a few years worth of reading, visiting his blog, etc, and I got really turned off. He started to seem a bit mental, for lack of a better word; self-conscious in the manner in which he pondered and reflected on various matters and ideas; full of contradiction to the point of cruelty, such as when he had the steer that he presumably loved and cared for, slaughtered. Of course, he rationalizes everything and seems to have little-to-no self-awareness while creating an illusion of someone with great awareness.
All of that said, I think those first few books stand for what they are.
A degree of autism, I suspect.
In Wales, we were surrounded on three sides by sheep. So naturally, we had the wonderful opportunity to watch border collies work. Simply an amazing experience.
On the huge estate just outside our village every August Sheep Dog Trials were held. And it was there that we could compare the dogs’ abilities. It was very competitive as you can imagine. One of my most treasured memories from that country. Brilliantly smart are border collies.
The training of a good sheepdog is remarkable. The farmer starts by giving commands, watches what his dog does and then alters his commands to fit the dog’s actions. So really the whole fascinating process is actually that the dog is training the farmer!
No matter…it’s worked that for centuries. Why change?
I love your stories from your life abroad. As for border collies, yes, they are crazy smart and I always get frustrated when I see people adopt them who have no idea what that breed needs to do – people who live in small condominiums and don’t understand these dogs need to work. Then (as happens with many dogs, not just this breed, or any specific breed, necessarily), the people accuse the dog of being “bad” and subsequently mistreat it or abandon it.
Dogs are such wondrous creatures. (I say that quietly so our cat won’t hear, though sometimes she gets into a form with swift efficiency of movement that makes us exclaim “border collie crouch!”)
Given the nature of things you’ve shared, I presume you’ve read “James Herriot’s” stories… The compilation that was put together called Treasury for Children is fantastic because it’s jock full of wonderful watercolor illustrations.
A Border Collie adopted me one afternoon. She had plastic pound tags which were used to identify dogs scheduled to be put down. I surmised that some kind person “accidentally” left a door open and this smart doggie made her escape. She came up to me, put her head on my knee and that was that. She’d claimed me. I named her Sweetiepie and she was the best dog. She made my wife her work. Wherever she went Sweetie was with her. We had her for 8 years and she died quietly at home. I still miss her.
I feel the ache in you, G. So much so that I am feeling it as well. We had a sweet sweet Jack Russell, Penny…long gone from our physical presence, but not from our memories. I truly believe our dogs are chosen for us. And they leave their footprints on our hearts. I know it sounds trite, but it is the truth. And those of us who have been blessed with the love of a good dog know it.💓
What a beautiful story. Lucky dog and lucky you and your wife!
I have read every one. And I did so when they first came out. I was captivated by them. And I agree with you. Different breeds have such diverse natures and needs.
My sister in law lives in Wales and was active in carriage driving, a really difficult equestrian sport. Her driving partner was a no nonsense woman who loved horses as well, but also dogs. She is quite knowledgeable about dogs and had the honour of judging at Crufts, the prestigious dog show in Britain. Her take on people who owned dogs whose natures weren’t suited for the environments they found themselves in is unprintable. But I must say that situation seems to be more prevalent in this country, which is a tragedy, I think, for the dog and for the people who don’t do their homework before adopting or buying.
I have a passion for beautifully done children’s illustrations, especially British ones and especially watercolour ones…but I would say that, wouldn’t I?I have bought children’s books on the basis of the illustrations alone.
My husband is, among his many other talents, an excellent watercolourist, and our granddaughter at 13 has turned out some of the most incredible works in such detail that I have to shake myself to remember she is so young. I’ll hope to see the book you are speaking of. It sounds wonderful.
I just read your reply and will post a list of my favorite children’s book tonight. I used to collect chidlren’s books and exactly as you say, the illustrations had to be gorgeous first and foremost. Anyway, I’ve since given almost all of them away as my family has downsized and I’ve loved the freeing feeling of having less while knowing so many treasures have been passed onto those who are at a stage in life when they can most enjoy them….

Cool, my o’l man played that same album all the time ! He liked Bach as well.
Just another piece of culture that the commies took away, the ability of children or young adults to listen to musical genre’s .
Doof, doof, don’t count .
Whenever I hear great drummers, I think of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida as that was a song my very bad band covered but our great drummer pulled it off flawlessly. I found a couple of versions by Iron Butterfly but this Sina cover impressed me.
Thanks rebel53blog,
Here is another great version, 1964, from Japan.
My first band (mid 60’s) played a lot of Ventures covers… And Yardbirds… And early Beatles …..
Those two videos brought back a flood of fun memories.
Thanks rebel

THE WORLD ENGLISH BIBLE
If you need to quote an extended portion of the bible for something you are publishing, you might be interested in the World English Bible. I don’t have any connection to the people who publish this bible. In fact, until a few weeks ago I didn’t know it existed. Here is the publisher’s statement:
“You may copy, publish, proclaim, distribute, redistribute, sell, give away, quote, memorize, read publicly, broadcast, transmit, share, back up, post on the Internet, print, reproduce, preach, teach from, and use the World English Bible as much as you want, and others may also do so. All we ask is that if you CHANGE the actual text of the World English Bible in any way, other than changing from American to British spelling or vice versa, you not call the result the World English Bible any more. This is to avoid confusion, not to limit your freedom. The Holy Bible is God’s Word. It belongs to God. He gave it to us freely, and we who have worked on this translation freely give it to you by dedicating it to the Public Domain.”
I like this version as well as the ESV and the NIV, which it resembles. It’s maybe a little more casual, as it uses more contractions. It is as clear as any translation I have seen.
The WEB’s site is worldenglish dot bible. It includes free downloads of various versions and tools, as well as FAQs. You can access the American WEB online at biblegateway dot com.
“Cool” is the first word I stated in rebel response, most yanks would say I was cold or un-whatever, point is though in Aussie thought I just payed my respects !
In posts here I have continually point out the difference in thought process between our two countries.
My God is my God is nobody’s business but mine.
Collectively that mindset prevails, that is why people don’t talk “faith” here, it’s more “action” than word.
Now go back to my comment and the first word “Cool” this is by no means denigration as by stating this I have given reverence to a life, not a death !
Might sound weird to you mob I know .
A good way to explain(which I by no means have too) is a simple inbeded collective thought control mechanism exists in all countries, nobody can argue that fact.
In Australia the “thought factor” is decribable in one sentence :
“Think of the second meaning” !
It takes just of much for me to “get around” your countries “mindset” as it should for you all with mine.
Insert” . “after faith. My mistake.
Good morning mungrel!
Humans are a strange bunch to some of us cats. This mindset you speak of is interesting. As interesting as the Americans mindset I’ve come to know.
You’ve been so nice to this cat, I’ll school you on my mindset. When I read don wilson had passed on, and you replied cool, I thought:
perhaps you were celebrating his passing into heaven. It is truly the reward one desires upon leaving this world.
You are a most interesting mungrel. Much nicer than your counterparts I’ve come across. I’m pleased to have been given a chance to know you. Heck, I might let you scratch between my ears
The forest is full of monsters. Remember it has butterflies too 😉
Take care mungrel. ❤️
Good morning, FC! And good morning Betsy, Frank, and all our friends on the OT. Trying to save the mods some extra work.
Love y’all!
Bakatchu!
Hahaha, Cat!! Just caught your lovely comment about my tomahawk on the Bowser thread yesterday! Loved it🤗. Its still sharp and at the ready.😉
I’ll except the scratch and raise you a wag!😛
Well said and very true..👍
Good morning Mungrel!
Howdy Frank, good to see ya up and about, I’ve decided to just take little steps , but that don’t mean I won’t chuck everything in !
Met a real quality couple yesterday, two bambinos 2 and 5 , real good fighters and nice people, they are really happy to meet Mungrel, how goods this, three hounds that protect the property, they were late meeting me and when they arrived the dogs were all over me as I lyeid down
On the grass!
O’l mate just said to his wife “don’t bother locking any doors when this blokes around” !
That here means respect .
Have a great day Frank , I have to wait about four months now to have a fire so enjoy yours.
Dogs and children just know, Mungrel. 💓👍 Why does God want us to be like little children? This!!
My husband found the following post from a mother of a young child.
“(getting ready to take the kids to school this morning)
5 yo: Mum, can I take an extra pair of gloves and a hat today?
Me: Sure, in case they get wet?
5 yo: because there’s a boy in my class who never has any and I want him to be warm”
How much better our world would be if we all had a gentle, giving heart just like this wee lad?
Greetings!
Morning dear Frank.
Great afternoon!
🤗
Agree, 100% it’s a Damn shame though that most can’t see the existional truth let alone their own !
To much rotting fruit on the earth tree I’m afraid .
Howdy son, I think most of us here did take the cool comment the right way, respect for Don Wilson’s life and music.
Glad that you have found some new friends.
Cheers
Enjoy reading about ‘cool’ in America.
When “Cool” Got Cool : Word Routes : Thinkmap Visual Thesaurus
When I was a child it was said that Australia was twenty years behind America ! Behind the times sort of thinking, then ten, five and now it is not even mentioned.
The social structures built through the internet are amazing I think, the way the globalist want to destroy everything created is typically “old school” , I find it interesting how their tactics over centuries remain the same , even in the advent of modern technology.

FERAL, I heard your “hiss” ! , I came looking ! You did interrupt me , at first I really have to say I was not impressed as you interrupted when I was rolling in a four week old kill! Now I don’t know about you so much but mungrel got interrupted, my smell is my home .
Nothing like a home family shindig.
I went looking with my full rotten cover ,for the fresh “hiss” .
I moved from the south as I “sniffed ” your “scratch tree, moving with only saliva ,teeth and awkward battle hardened “twitch”I managed to keep my favorite Feral ( I won’t say pussy , because some people around here are just plain rude ) !
Anyway, the wind helped big, the Bears and Coyotes smelt me ! They left, down wind I stalked them.
They left as left normally does.
I four footed your Feral forest enclave around and around and my presence only provides cover in war.
I did not cock my leg on your “scratch Tree” ! It’s the only one I did not “cock” my legs on !
All the other trees I left my mark , I mean lift a leg!
Well I ate good before I came to hunt , nice” hiss” thanks,
I um, um, well I’m a bit embarrassed , my scent is just one way I tried to help,
You got extra privilege from mungrel !
You are surrounded by “Barkers Eggs”
Sorry for the smell
😂 😂 😂
Barkers eggs, had to look it up 😂 In my neck of the woods, we call it scat. Thats what the human said when I left you a present. There’s a most delicious mouse next to one for you. Did you find it yet?
Your scent is most delicious to this cat’s nose. It lead me to the most interesting places to hide. Thanks.
Glad you found my scratch tree. I marked it specially for you.
Since your birthday is coming up and I don’t know the day,I left you a bunch of m&ms and tootsie rolls all over the place. Don’t eat them all at once 😉

Mornin’ infidels!
“Let’s go Brandon!”
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

I’m going to post this early and often on this site starting here. I don’t know how many people view this site, I know it’s a lot.
There are a hundred (?) U.S. citizens who are being held in a D.C. jail. In solitary confinement for a year. No access to an attorney, no charges, no speedy trial, abusive treatment. We get occasional letters, when they can get out, of horrific conditions, retributions and no accountability from Garland. Political prisoners.
Hi Leenie, we need to bust them out,
Grandpa, you sound like a fed!!! Are you trying to trap this 60 something year old woman into an “insurrection??!! 🤣
Leenie thank you.
I nearly went to DC in January 2020 to join in protesting obvious vote shenanigans. I had watched the whole election night and was horrified by the simultaneous vote stoppage in 5 states, the refusal to call Virginia long after their polls closed, while calling a state before their polls had even closed? It was outrageous and I felt helpless.
I am so aware that I could have been one of the people beaten, killed or mistreated, arrested and imprisoned, the same way Germans would disappear into Dachau or Gestapo prisons in my mother’s homeland. So many said, never again… then turned around and endorsed this kind of evil that is going on with the DC prisons.
The same kind of cruel behaviors that the worst dictators and governments indulge, is happening here, in what used to be our American Dream.
Prayers up for the January 6 victims, for Julian Assange, and for all people around the world who are terrorized by their own governments. And thank you to everyone who works for an end to this nightmare.
✝️ Lord, thank You for the day. Amen.
