However in the specific instance of The Olympics, it is the host city that INVITES athletes to come and compete.
This means it is the host city which must accept the diversity of cultures and behaviours, and tolerate those that they normally wouldn’t.
It says more about these athletes than it does about pelosi if they really had to be told to button their lip or run the risk of serious consequences.
