Macmillan Science and Education have gone live with phase 1 of their Oracle HCM Cloud implementation, replacing multiple HR systems globally.

Italian mobile operator picks Oracle cloud  

Ringo Mobile (part of the ICS Group), a new mobile telephony operator which has just entered the Italian market, has chosen Oracle Cloud to guarantee flexible company management in total security. They chose a series of Oracle Saas Applications: Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle EPM Cloud, Oracle Service Cloud, Oracle Marketing Cloud, Oracle Documents Cloud and Human Resources management with Oracle HCM Cloud.

Oracle - ERP is Next Cloud Push

ZDNet reports on Tim Ebbeck (Oracle Australia and New Zealand MD) and his claim that Oracle is eyeing ERP as the next big push. Having made great strides in HCM and Sales, expect ERP to make large strides over the next 12 months.

Oracle's 2nd largest workforce is in India 

"Oracle has 10 product development centres across India, and of the 120,000 workforce globally, 31,000 are in India," Oracle president Thomas Kurian said last week. He also said that of the total worldwide workforce, 30% (36,000) are in product development worldwide and one-third of those (12,000) work in India.

Surfer Fights Shark on Live TV

Australian Mick Fanning was taking part in the World Surf League event in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, when the shark approached him from behind. He shielded himself with his surfboard and punched the shark in the back, prompting it to swim away. It's a scary video.
