Actor David Hedison Passes Away at Age 92

Actor David Hedison who was best known for his starring role as Captain Lee Crane in the 1960's television series "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" has passed away at the age of 92.

One of Hedison's final roles was voicing the character of Jor-El in the 2013 adaptation of "Superman and the Secret Planet"; a proposed big budget Superman film written by "Adventures of Superman" writer David T. Chantler which never saw the light of day.

The film's plot involves the US President disappearing and Superman learning of a huge asteroid in nearby space, apparently under human control. Flying to the "secret planet," he learns that a piece of his home world has survived, a city called Kryptonia which is ruled by a cruel tyrant named Zonar, with plans to colonize and enslave the Earth.

Hedison passed away on July 18th at his home in Los Angeles. The staff of the Superman Super Site wishes to express of most sincere thoughts and prayers to the Hedison family.
