Publisher's summary

She’s meant to be catching flights, not catching feelings....

Molly and Andrew are just trying to get home to Ireland for the holidays when a freak snowstorm grounds their flight.

Nothing romantic has ever happened between them: They’re friends, and that’s all. But once a year, for the last ten years, Molly has spent seven hours and fifteen minutes sitting next to Andrew on the last flight before Christmas from Chicago to Dublin, drinking terrible airplane wine and catching up on each other’s lives. In spite of all the ways the two friends are different, it’s the holiday tradition neither of them has ever wanted to give up.

Molly isn’t that bothered by Christmas, but—in yet another way they’re total opposites—Andrew is a full-on fanatic for the festive season, and she knows how much getting back to Ireland means to him. So, instead of doing the sane thing and just celebrating the holidays together in America, she does the stupid thing. The irrational thing. She vows to get him home. And in time for his mam’s famous Christmas dinner.

The clock is ticking. But Molly always has a plan. And—as long as the highly specific combination of taxis, planes, boats, and trains all run on time—it can’t possibly go wrong.

What she doesn’t know is that, as the snow falls over the city and over the heads of two friends who are sure they’re not meant to be together, the universe might just have a plan of its own....

A totally gorgeous and escapist friends-to-lovers festive romance with a swoon-worthy hero. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Mhairi Macfarlane, and Christina Lauren.

SWEET

If I had to summarize this book in one word, it would be SWEET ☺️

🎄friends to lovers
🎄slow-burn romance
🎄alternating timelines
🎄sweet family elements
🎄travel shenanigans and witty banter
🎄no real 3rd act conflict 🙌🏻

This book was just precious! Andrew and Molly, who meet in college, travel home to Ireland every year together from Chicago. Over the course of 10 years, they become very close and I really enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed over the years in the flashback chapters. It’s very clear that they were just slowly falling in love and they didn’t even realize it. If you’re looking for a precious, holiday romance, I would def recommend!

Horrible

I couldn't finish this book. I thought I would be brave and listen to the end, but this book was giving me bad vibes. Probably the worst book I listened to/read this year.

Cute friends to lovers holiday romance!

This was such a cute and fun friends to lovers holiday romance! Molly and Andrew have been friends for years, like 8+, and have become travel companions while both fly back home to Ireland from Chicago. I loved seeing their different flights over the years, we get flashbacks of different moments from each year and it was so fun to see. There was pining, which I especially love in a friends to lovers! I liked seeing time spent with both of their families in Ireland. I liked how over the years they were never on the same page, someone was with someone else, or something was always making it “not the right time”. The audio for this was a great listen!

Another Catherine Walsh hit!

I love the way that Catherine Walsh writes rom com without the same old irritating storylines about the lead characters having a misunderstanding that carries on for the entire book and they never actually talk about it like real life relationships. She avoids all these silly tropes while still managing to write romance, fun, laughter, and well developed supporting characters. She is my new favorite author!

A wonderful holiday romance!

I loved this story so much! It was exactly what I was hoping for! Andrew and Molly and their crazy dash home while reliving their past flights brought me so much joy! I loved their families and the way they talked about everything! This is a love story I look forward to rereading time and again!
