Message from the Chair
Hello new friends,
My name is Janine Silvis and I am your incoming Chair for the Commission for Social Justice Education. I am excited to serve in this role for the next two years and learn more from our excellent Past-Chair, Brian Reese.
Outside of ACPA, I am the Assistant Director for Residential Education for Cowell College and Stevenson College. In my role, I supervise the Coordinators for Residential Education (CREs) and contribute to the development and implementation of curricular initiatives that address educational needs and enhance awareness of socially relevant issues for residential students.
I hope that you will be able to join us for our Annual Forum on Tuesday, March 2, 12:00 – 3:00pm EST.
During this time, Brian and I will lead our members in taking a curricular approach to the years ahead. This is a process in which we want to ensure that all of our members have the opportunity to contribute. Since most of the work will be developed during the convention, it was important to us to include those who cannot join us.
In service of that goal, we kindly ask you to leave your thoughts about our educational priority and learning goals in this Easy Retro Board. During our annual forum, we hope to crowdsource ideas that are representative of our commission’s members!
