Cron Temporarily Disabled

Recommended Posts

After analyzing and comparing the log files immediately before the last two crashes of Stevie we think that it may be an issue with a cron job that is causing the server to lock up. We have temporarily disabled new cron jobs creation, and deleted a few cron job runs that may have caused the crash. In addition to the cron job possibility we have increased the sensitivity of the automated crash prevention systems that we have in place. This may result in some 500 errors on memory intensive scripts like Roundcube webmail, during periods of low server resources. After all, a few error messages are better than twelve hours of downtime from a full crash.
