A man who killed a pedestrian while driving drunk was sentenced to three years in prison.

Michael Penick pleaded guilty to DWI and vehicular homicide for killing Julio Simon Martinez last October near San Mateo and Lomas.

Penick admitted to drinking six shots before getting behind the wheel.

Judge Brett Loveless sentenced him to three years, out of a possible seven he was facing under a plea deal.

He’s currently out of jail and has to turn himself in later this month.
